Cycle Across Barriers is an annual project run by the Hackney Cypriot Association which started in 2010. It’s purpose is to promote bi-communal friendship between all Cypriot communities, and raise funds for 2 chosen charities, Hackney Cypriot Association (UK), and Cyclists Across Barriers (CY).
It is a cycling tour of Cyprus whose route covers both sides of the divide, from mountains and blooming fields of wild flowers, to beaches and villages, crossing the Green Line in the process. Cyclists will camp or stay in designated accommodation along the way.
The next event will be 6th-11th April 2019 from the tip of the island Apostolos Andreas to the capital city Lefkosia. This will be followed by a cycling trip to Lakatamia and back in the capital province, on the 13th April with Home for Co-operation in the UN Buffer Zone.
